Latah GOP endorses Jeanne Moore and Bradley Baas for Library Board

Election Day: May 20th, 2025 (8am-8pm)

Early Voting: May 5-16 (M-F, 8am-5pm)

As the May election approaches, the Latah County Republican Central Committee is proud to endorse two principled, thoughtful candidates for our local library board: Bradley Baas and Jeanne Moore. These candidates bring not only a deep respect for the importance of our libraries, but also a commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability. We believe they will serve the people of Latah County with wisdom and integrity.

Bradley Baas: A Thoughtful Voice for Efficiency and Accountability

Bradley Baas is a Christian who moved to Moscow to pursue higher education focused on the timeless truths of classical learning. Originally from Michigan, he studied cybersecurity and worked in the industry before moving west. A lifelong lover of literature—his latest favorite is Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment—Bradley understands firsthand the value that a public library brings to individuals and families.

“From a young age I relied on my public library—not just for books, but to build a future. When I applied for my first job, I used the library’s computer lab to create and print my resume.”

Bradley is passionate about maintaining and improving the services that make libraries so valuable—while also making sure that taxpayers aren’t left behind. With property taxes in Latah County continuing to rise, Bradley believes it’s time for common-sense stewardship.

Bradley’s Platform:

  • 📚 Make Libraries Efficient
  • 💰 Stop Property Tax Hikes
  • ⏱️ Restore Personal Accountability (Bring Back Late Fees)
  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Support Parents' Rights

Bradley is committed to defending our library as a “storehouse of wisdom” and ensuring it remains a flourishing resource for all—without waste or excess.

Jeanne Moore: A Proven Advocate for Families and Fiscal Stewardship

Jeanne Moore’s love of libraries began in the fifth grade, helping out in her school’s library and developing a lifelong passion for reading. While card catalogs are now a thing of the past, Jeanne has maintained her love for books, building a personal library of over 2,000 volumes. Raised in rural western Washington, she met her faithful husband, Mel, and together they have raised and homeschooled ten children. Their focus? Building honest, hard-working citizens with real-life skills, a tradition that continues with their soon-to-arrive 31st grandchild.

In 2009, Jeanne and her family moved to Harvard, Idaho, seeking a family-friendly environment. They now run a small, homestead-style farm where Jeanne manages both the finances and daily operations. She has worked for attorney John Porter in Troy and currently serves as Office Administrator and Financial Manager for her son’s construction company, Moore Broz Construction—roles where her organizational and financial skills have flourished.

Jeanne’s Christian faith guides her approach to life, and she values collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She is open-minded, practical, and deeply committed to stewarding community resources well.

“I have the discipline to stretch a dollar while also recognizing when it is essential to invest in a wise purchase. The Latah County Library Board oversees a budget of $1.7 million of YOUR tax dollars, and I would approach this responsibility with the utmost diligence.”

Jeanne’s Priorities:

  • 💵 Responsible Stewardship of Taxpayer Dollars
  • 🔎 Transparency in Programming and Spending
  • 🧒 Protecting Minors from Harmful Materials (per Idaho State Law)
  • 🧩 Encouraging Community Participation in Library Policy

Importantly, Jeanne is running in a three-way race for a single seat where voters can cast two votes. Jeanne Moore is the only principled Republican in this race, and the only candidate endorsed by the Latah County GOP. We strongly recommend voters cast only one vote in this contest—to avoid diluting support for Jeanne.

Vote With Confidence

This May, we encourage all Republican and conservative-leaning voters in Latah County to make their voices heard by supporting:

  • Bradley Baas for Library Board
  • Jeanne Moore for Library Board (cast only one vote in her race)

Together, we can ensure our libraries remain excellent, efficient, and accountable to the people they serve.

A previous version of this article stated that "Jeanne Moore is the only registered Republican in this race." On May 10, 2025 Annette Bay Pimentel contacted our executive committee to clarify that she is also a registered republican. The Latah County GOP acknowledges this error, but would also like to point out that Ms. Pimentel changed her voter registration from Democrat to Republican in February of 2024, a tactic often utilized by Democrats to vote in the Republican primary (which she did). Ms. Pimentel previously voted in Democrat Primaries in 2022, 2020, 2018, and 2016.
